Compost Happens @ AD&V®

At AD&V® we are truly committed to environment. With this in mind, on 2014 we launched an Urban Garden at our previous offices in Ciudadela to educate our team members, their children and family members about various alternatives for composting, the advantages of vegetable cultivation and home gardening.

Our team along with their family members planted with their own hands their gardens using recyclable materials, such as milk cartons and plastic containers. During the activity, we also presented easy harvesting tips for home garden. For example, you can use eggshells to help accelerate seed germination. As they decompose, the eggshells naturally enrich the soil, providing a steady source of calcium.

To wrap up the day, we made a presentation that featured home hydroponic and aquaponic systems made with recycled materials to harvest vegetable crops, such as lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, corn and pigeon peas, among others.
